Melinda's career with Leo Burnett spans over 30 years. After graduating from Northwestern University, she joined Leo Burnett in Chicago, the agency’s worldwide headquarters. She moved to Australia with the agency and was CEO of Leo Burnett Melbourne for 15 years prior to her current national role.
Under her leadership, Leo Burnett Melbourne became one of the most successful and awarded agencies in Australia. In January 2017, the agency was ranked #9 in the world for creativity (Gunn Report), and in both 2015 and 2016, Leo Burnett Melbourne was Agency of the Year for the Leo Burnett network globally. The agency is consistently recognised in the industry for its entrepreneurial and dynamic culture.
Melinda has driven the transformation of Leo Burnett Melbourne from a traditional ad agency to a creative solutions company through the growth of diversified services and an emphasis on creativity, intelligence and technology.
In addition to her new role as CEO of Leo Burnett Australia, she is a member of the Publicis Communications Country Leadership Team. Melinda was one of the first women appointed to The Communications Council, and she has been a strong advocate in the industry for professional development, diversity, work/life balance and creative culture. In 2017, B&T ranked Melinda 7th in their “Women in Media Power List.”
Melinda has served on various industry bodies, advisory councils and not-for-profit boards, and she is currently a director for Make-a-Wish Australia and Wesley College Melbourne.
