Chief Executive Officer Australia
Melinda's career with Leo Burnett spans over 30 years. After graduating from Northwestern University, she joined Leo Burnett in Chicago, the agency’s worldwide headquarters. She moved to Australia with the agency and was CEO of Leo Burnett Melbourne for 15 years prior to her current national role.
Under her leadership, Leo Burnett Melbourne became one of the most successful and awarded agencies in Australia, with over 600 creative and effectiveness awards over the last decade and 13 years of continuous growth. Melinda led the transformation of the agency from a traditional ad agency to a creative solutions company through the growth of diversified services and an emphasis on creativity, intelligence and technology.
In 2017, Melinda was appointed CEO of Leo Burnett Australia. Over the last three years, she has brought the Sydney and Melbourne agencies together (“creativity without borders”) to create a formidable national team, giving clients access to the agency’s full firepower.
Melinda is part of the Publicis Groupe Country Leadership Team and led the launch of VivaWomen! for the Groupe in Australia. She served on The Communications Council for six years, and has been an advocate in the industry for professional development, diversity, work/life balance and creative culture. In 2019, B&T ranked Melinda 4th in their “Women in Media Power List.” She is currently a Director of Make-a-Wish Australia and serves as a Council Member of Wesley College.
